Renewable Metering Validation

Project Details

Client: Sainsbury's

Task: Nationwide Renewable Metering Validation

The Background

Sainsbury’s have installed several renewable technologies within their estate which require certifiable metering to ensure they delivering on their energy saving commitments. Each system required its own different metering strategy to ensure compliance and correct operation. Sainsbury's engaged Cura Energy to validate the existing renewable metering across their estate and carry out rectification works where necessary.

The Cura Energy Approach

The individual metering requirements for the systems were assessed prior to visiting site to understand what was required for compliance in conjunction with the relevant regulatory bodies. A validation assessment report was developed for recording the information at site level and a process put in place to capture and action non-compliance.

As the project involved many site assessments, the project team worked with Sainsbury’s to develop a project programme to meet their compliance deadlines. The site validation was only part of the process as once the metering had been validated at site level; a further remote validation took place to ensure the data being received remotely on Sainsbury’s Energy Management System was accurate.

The Result

The metering was validated at site level and remotely with an individual validation report issued for each store. Any issues found preventing compliance were highlighted and resolved if within the Cura Energy scope or allocated to the correct stakeholder to action and resolve.
