ASDA Energy Monitoring & Targeting

Project Details

Client: ASDA

Task: Sub-Metering Installation

The Background

ASDA had an existing aM&T (automated Monitoring & Targeting ) system which required enhancing due to the poor data quality after numerous store refits and ad hoc additions. In some cases, no sub metering had been installed and entire new monitoring systems needed to be installed on the stores. Tariff approved metering was also required for the concession's areas within these stores for the re charge of energy to tenants.

Cura Energy was briefed to scope, project manage and install all the above to an agreed programme to enable them to keep in line with their carbon reduction commitment.

The Cura Energy Approach

We created a project scope and specification including KPIs for data quality and coverage. Our project management team prepared a project programme in line with the client’s expectations and other factors such as equipment procurement.

Each individual store was contacted to explain the project to ensure there was no disruption to trading. Our site installation team were briefed on the entire project and installation process, including Health and Safety. Individual store reporting procedures were established with the engineers to enable the large amount of store data to be processed by our internal team quickly and efficiently. We kept the client constantly informed through weekly Project Tracker and Programme updates.

The Result

The systems were all installed within programme and within budget. All KPIs were met for meter coverage (70% of existing store sub metered) and our bureau engineers ensured the data was validated prior to going live.
