Tell me a bit about yourself and your role at Cura.

My name is Tyla Wilson and I am a Project Coordinator at Cura Energy. My role encompasses, liaising with clients and being a main point of contact, coordinating projects and engineer activities, energy data analysis and providing onsite support where required. I predominately work on the energy side of the business but assist on the BeMS activities when required.

How long have you been working for Cura Energy?

Just over 7 months but it feels longer, in a good way! I’ve received a very warm welcome.

What do you like about working here?

I like working in close-nit teams where everyone pitches in to support each other, Cura is a great example of this. It’s extremely rewarding and motivating working in this team. I enjoy the range of technical and organisational tasks that I have in my role, which is enhanced by the individual development and training Cura has offered me.

"It's extremely rewarding and motivating working in this team."

How did you get into the industry?

I gained interest in the energy sector during sixth form when I studied renewable energy technology for my EPQ. I kept my interest in the energy sector and was delighted when Cura reached out to me for the Project Coordination role.

What does a day at work look like for you?

A large part of my role is to make sure that all the engineers are aware of their schedule and their tasks at each site, ensuring that they have all the equipment and paperwork required. I also work closely with the rest of the operational team in the office to discuss any potential issues or risks to projects and finding solutions.

What’s your favourite part about your job?

I find it extremely satisfying finding solutions to problems, whether it’s coordinating our engineers to maximise efficiencies or solving a technical problem.

What are some challenging aspects to the role?

Projects within the building services industry are often subject to late changes and alterations to the timeline. Maintaining communication with our clients helps to alleviate any last-minute updates. Regardless, it can be challenging, and I have to make sure we are able to adapt to these changes to deliver for all of our clients.

What are your future career aspirations at Cura Energy?

I hope to keep growing here at Cura and get involved with larger projects. Eventually moving into a project management role.

Thank you to our Energy Project Co-ordinator, Tyla Wilson for taking part in this mini interview with us.
