Cura launches guide to energy data validation for low carbon tech manufacturers & energy solution providers

Cura Energy knows better than anyone that an absence of robust, independently verified data to evidence the impact of energy projects is a major concern for energy end users – particularly at the CFO level.

In tough economic times, it is no surprise that end-users’ senior finance execs are making stronger, tougher demands on their suppliers to validate the impact of energy products and solutions. Where energy data is unavailable or not credible (and has not been independently collected and verified), the ROI associated with the product or solution can be called into question.

As a result, end users can lack confidence in the companies who delivered the project or solution. In fact, our own research tells us this is causing slow project sign-off and even final payment.

Demand for ‘increased scrutiny’

At Cura Energy, we have seen a significant increase in our temporary energy monitoring services from low carbon technology solutions providers and equipment manufacturers. Regardless of what they sell or manufacture (lighting, controls, HVAC plant or renewables), these companies are all facing increased scrutiny to validate the savings delivered through use of their technologies.

We have responded to this challenge by publishing: Energy Data Validation Made Easy: A Guide for Energy Solution Providers – which is available for download here.

Introducing: Temporary monitoring solutions

In our new guide, we explain the benefits of real-time energy data from temporary monitoring solutions for project validation. We also cover our methodology for data baselining and collection – and explain why it is a cost effective (and non-invasive) route for energy tech companies to demonstrate and prove ROI and energy savings.

“Simple ways to evidence energy impact”

“We are concerned that so many low carbon technology and solution companies are struggling to prove the savings and impact they set out to achieve! There is a really simple solution to this problem – the installation of temporary energy monitoring,” says Carly Higglesden, our Managing Director at Cura Energy.

“Robust, accurate and independently verified energy data is at the heart of any successful energy project. With the right data collection and measurement methodology in place, we take an accurate baseline to evidence the effectiveness of energy-saving measures and verify anticipated savings. A full independent report that showcases the ‘before, during and after effects’ is provided so the customer can see a visual representation of the data as well as our findings. The data we collect can also be used to support the business case for scope-extension and future projects.

“We urge low carbon technology manufacturers and energy efficiency solutions companies to download our new guide and talk to us if they recognise this challenge in their businesses. We want to help resolve these challenges for them and make it easier for their customers to see the true impact of efficiency upgrades and projects”.
